Researcher: Richard Engstrom
Rich Engstrom is responsible for IGSR's research, technical assistance, and outreach initiatives. He has experience in a number of policy areas and has worked with government agencies and nonprofit groups on projects in areas as diverse as legislative redistricting, substance abuse in young populations, public funding for election campaigns, sexual violence prevention, and teen driver education. He earned his Ph.D at Rice University and has served as a political science faculty member at the University of Wyoming, Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University (where he served as Director of the A.L. Burruss Institute of Public Service and Research) and Nazarbayev University (where he served as Vice Dean for Research). He also has an extensive publication record, much of which focuses on issues related to governance and representation at the state and local level.
